Ring, from Garden of Delight Spring / Summer 2013 collection
This is a ring. It was designed by Delfina Delettrez.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Delfina Delettrez as part of Beauty—Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial.
A small, golden bee sits delicately between two fingers on one side of this open-ended ring. A simple pearl plays the role of “flower.” The intricately enameled bee hovers, studying the pearl as an object on which to light. The golden bee contrasts with the luminous pearl as they both appear to defy gravity in the open setting. Delettrez is a fourth-generation member of the Fendi family.
It is credited Courtesy of Delfina Delettrez.
